What happened to the company
Knightsbridge Insolvency Services Limited was incorporated in April 2010 and traded from Manchester, latterly at 3 Hardman Street. It arranged and supervised Individual Voluntary Arrangements in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and protected trust deeds in Scotland, where hundreds of Gazette notices record it acting as trustee. It described itself as part of the Money Advice Group.
The company did not go bust. Its directors applied in October 2020 to have it voluntarily struck off the register — a routine way of closing a company that has stopped trading. An objection paused the process in November 2020, but it went through in the end, and the company was dissolved on 19 January 2021. There was no liquidation, no administration and no winding-up petition. A related company, Money Advice Group Limited, was dissolved three months later.

If you had an IVA with Knightsbridge
Client IVAs were transferred to Creditfix, reportedly around 15,000 of them, in or around December 2017. At the time of the transfer some clients were asked to agree a variation increasing the supervisor's share of the fees. Creditfix later confirmed that no one should have been told their IVA would be terminated if they refused.
Do not assume your IVA is still with Creditfix. That transfer was years ago. An IVA started before it will normally have completed, failed, or moved to another supervisor since. Check your own position before acting on anything.
How to find out where your case is now
- England, Wales and Northern Ireland Search the Individual Insolvency Register at gov.uk/search-bankruptcy-insolvency-register. It will confirm whether an IVA is still open and give the case details. Entries are usually removed within three months of a case ending, so if nothing appears, your IVA has most likely finished one way or the other.
- Scotland Search the Register of Insolvencies at roi.aib.gov.uk. It names the trustee and the firm currently handling a protected trust deed.
- Ask Creditfix directly Call 0800 0431 431 or visit creditfix.co.uk. Have your old Knightsbridge reference to hand if you still have any paperwork.
- Still stuck The Insolvency Service enquiry line is 0300 678 0015, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
If you want to complain about how your case was handled
Complaints about a licensed insolvency practitioner go through the Insolvency Service Complaints Gateway, which assesses them within 15 working days and passes them to the practitioner's professional body — ICAEW, the Insolvency Practitioners Association or ICAS.
